Musical Industrial Ensemble

The model is the final result of the graduation project. It showcases the sequence of spaces to reach the core of the building, from the semi-public entrance areas to the private essence of the philharmonic hall. A narrow staircase, hidden between two floor-to-ceiling walls, and a skylight lead the visitors to the music chamber. The positioning of the bricks is studied to create a transition between the different spaces.
The bricks and the industrial roof are inspired by the location, the past industrial harbor "Het Bassin" in Maastricht (NL). The candid color leaves space for an elegant re-interpretation. The roof openings are adapted with inclined elements that let in only indirect light from the skylights.
The stairs sequence, the play of lights, and the materials share the same end goal: creating a meaningful experience for the users.
